Los Angeles Immigrants arrested for transporting others to Washington and Oregon

An immigrant couple from Los Angeles was arrested by ICE agents in Oregon last week for transporting newly-arrived undocumented workers through California to the northwest. Massachusetts factory raided by immigration to close

In 2007, immigration enforcement officers (ICE) raided the Massachusetts factory of military contractor Alliant Techsystems and arrested over 360 undocumented workers. The new owner, Eagle Industries, has announced that the factory, which employs over 300 workers, will close.

US Immigration to build facility near Los Angeles

United States immigration officials have begun the process of building a 2,200 bed immigration detention center within 120 miles of Los Angeles. Immigration and Customs enforcement can currently house 32,000 immigration detainees across the country, with 1,400 of them staying in a Los Angeles county facility.  US Immigration closed the San Pedro detention facility in 2007.

Italian mobster deported by United States Immigration back to Italy

Rosario Gambino, a member of one of New York’s five mafia families, was deported from the United States on Friday. Gambino, who served 22 years in federal prison on herion trafficking charges, left the United States from Miama, US immigration officials said. Fremont Nebraska may hold special election on illegal immigrant renting/hiring ban

A county judge has ordered leaders in Fremont, Nebraska to hold a special election on the question of whether or not to ban renting to or hiring illegal aliens. The ruling comes after the city council refused to put a similar measure to voters last year. Source: ktiv.com
