citizenship interview
A citizenship interview is part of the US naturalization process and can only be scheduled after the applicant has filed the N-400 citizenship application package and attended a fingerprint session. Once the fingerprints have been checked against, among other things, the FBI database, immigration officials will notify the citizenship applicant of the date, time and location of his or her citizenship interview. During the citizenship interview, an immigration officer will review the citizenship application and will administer the citizenship tests (English and civics). Success at the citizenship interview will qualify the applicant to take the citizenship oath at a citizenship ceremony in order to become a US citizen.
