Little 11 year old Ewelinda Bledniak immigrated to the US from Poland with her family when she was just 2 years old. She and her family currently live outside of Atlanta, Georgia where immigration officials are set to send her back to Poland. Ewelinda’s family claims that their former immigration attorney failed to file the proper paperwork for her immigration case, which has now caused her green card / adjustment of status (AOS) application to be denied. She has until the middle of July to leave for Poland via Voluntary Departure (VD).  Her father, a US citizen through naturalization, and her mother, a lawful permanent resident (LPR) face an uphill battle in securing Ewelinda’s return to the US. They must apply for her visa at the US Embassy in Poland, where she will undergo an interview and medical exam. If the petition is approved, she may be allowed to return to the United States and re-apply for her green card.
